And I got my eye exam. Boy, [livejournal.com profile] kitty_minako, I feel your pain. I did. Really.

This is not the refraction/exam by the opthomologist. No, this is the exam by a retinal specialist and he uses the BIG drops.

Fuck. I couldn't see shit, and was photosensitive at 9:00 PM when my appointment was at 8:45 AM that morning. And the guy wanted to see EVERYTHING with a bright light and ... ow.

However, I'm healthy and nothing to worry about. That's good. But, if I was to suffer a detached retina, there is little...no scratch that, NOTHING I can do to prevent it. With two people with significant retinal disease in my immediate family, the risk gets no higher for me.

But I've been under observation much longer than either of them. So there. Nyah.

Work is heating up - finally - but in a fashion one never likes. Blaming. A new support ticket tracking system was installed while I was on vacation, and gee whiz - not enough licenses were bought. So I have been logging my work under someone else's name. Lovely. That's foresight for you.

It'll improve. We're too cool not to.

Have been having the most kicking sunsets lately, though. The sky turns red, and orange and gold - vibrant, livid colors...while the ocean turns the most lambient green...mirror-like, willow-green, perhaps a shade lighter. Like that green flash I keep hearing about, perhaps. Wish I had a camera - it's incredible.

Thanksgiving is getting underway - Christmas. Oy. Haven't a clue how that is going to play yet -

But, back to work. Yup!

(I also gained weight coming back from Hawaii - go figure. So, back to watching everything again. I need to get to the gym.)

You don't know how powerful those drops are until you are starting to feel better. A year ago, I couldn't even feel the medicine in my eye. This last check up , i was like *BOING* whoa. I felt the numbness all throughout my eye X_x. Those drops are heaven to me when my eye is in pain, but you are right, the light of the scope thingie hurts like a biatch when one is photosensitive.

Glad your checkup was okay =D Eyes are so vital.

I wonder if they've started using stronger drops, or if after several annual exams your eyes are just slower to contract. It seems like it takes longer each time for my eyes to get back to normal. I had a morning appointment for my annual torture, and the next morning my eyes still weren't quite back.

Plus I go to a teaching institute. Darn it. After the docs finished examining my lattice degeneration, they sent in some med students to poke around for a while. "Do you see what I see?" I was gonna slap someone.r

Eye exams are never fun, just like going to the Dentist. I probably need to visit the Eye Doctor too sometime. As for gaining weight, I suggest stop eating at the Jack in the Box and hit the Gym! ^_- Later...

I was at the eye doc's a week ago. They didn't use the big drops, but it was still a drag. I hate when they come at me with that stuff. Even the puff of air thing irritates me. But I'm not any blinder than I was three years ago (yes, I know, too long to wait. Duly noted.)
