Any list of television shows that has The Simpsons at #1, Quantum Leap at the bottom...and has nothing but one hour dramas and sitcoms on it....

Doesn't know much about television. M*A*S*H nowhere on it.Yeah, I stopped looking very closely at that one at that point.

Disregard the impact documentary television has had in the last twenty years (Reality TV? Food Network? Animal Planet? Discovery? Yeah, that - good, bad or indifferent, it's been a HUGE force for altering what you see.)

oh wait.

Is my useless college degree showing again? Silly me.

As a typical TV viewer, you're not supposed to have intelligence.

This is a British list, and might be from a publication with mostly younger readers, no?

[livejournal.com profile] wolfette said the list was "voted on by the readers of Empire Magazine (a publication based in the UK, which clearly had an effect on the results)."

Based on what I saw on the list you may be right about their age range. They also seem to lean heavily towards imported sci-fi and horror.

*laughter* That's the clause I used when I commented on [livejournal.com profile] firecat's posting of the meme, and added it to my own copy. It's funny watching one's words go out into the world on their own....

"Greatest List EVAR" - with exceptions. Nah. What's the point?

Reality tv is evil. The amount of mindless drivel on tv increased exponentially, once reality tv took off.

Make that- MOST reality tv.

I watch MythBusters and really marvel at how far things have come - anyone who doesn't notice this? Isn't paying attention.

The wonder that is the Animal Planet and Food Network Channels. The juggernaut of Discovery. It's amazing.

One of my local stations is rerunning it from the beginning MWF at 9:00. Since I missed the first few episodes (I must've been in school or something) the first time through, this is a real treat.

I may or may not have seen the list. I try and forget things like that as quickly as I can. Still, if it had the Simps at #1, it can't be all bad.

As a hard-core M*A*S*H fan, who will drop just about anything if an ep comes on, yeah, that was weird.

In defense, I believe the list came from a British publication, which may have explained some of the omissions, as well as the additions.

I just went with what I found, but I think I should put together my own list.
