California results, nicely done graphically.

Southern CA to blame? Think Eastern and Central CA. Those places you drive through between going to Los Angeles from San Francisco. Oh, and to Vegas from Los Angeles.

Ignore them at your leisure - these are the folks who need something besides fear to make a legitimate decision regarding gender preferences.

But look how big Obama won in Los Angeles. That's just freaking amazing.

Oh, Orange County. You can always count on that place being the little red sea.

I wonder what kind of presence, if any, No on 8 had in the Central/Eastern/Far Northern California areas. Because you can bet your bottom dollar that Yes on 8 folks were there in force. Antioch is barely Bay Area, was plastered with Yes on 8 signs; I can only imagine what these other areas looked like.

And Modoc County (where I was conceived) and Shasta County (where I grew up) -- the NE corner of the state has consistently sent John Doolittle to the House, for instance. It's cattle ranchers and loggers and retired people and rice farmers. Merle Haggard lives up there, happily.

People sometimes think that the LA area and the SF Bay area are all of California.... they forget about all of those places along I-5 that have far more in common with Texas than any major metro part of California.

Hmmm, Prop 5 went down... another victory for the prison guards union! Next stop, a Federal judge will be placing our overburdened system under monitor and forcing the state to sink another (estimated) 18.5 BILLION into it.

I hate living in Orange County. I need to be back up in L.A. like, yesterday.

Something interesting: Go to that link, and select the Prop 8 results under "Available Races". Then under "Filters" select "Less than 10% with bachelor's degree"...

Then look at "More than 15% with bachelor's degree"...
