Advent - Day 3
Dec. 3rd, 2008 08:14 amHow to make a gift with something you have around the house. (Version 1.0)
Take a jar of pasta sauce:

Have dinner. (YUM.)

Soak the label off the jar. Note that the jar is exactly a quart - and some brands actually use Mason Jars. Fancy that.
Fill with your favorite 'cookie/cocoa in the jar recipe' (and look to see what you have on hand first to mate up with a recipe - Snickerdoodles can be made nearly anytime if you keep flour, sugar and cinnamon on hand):

Find festive scraps and decorate (Sunday morning comics can be substituted):

TADA.

Date: 2008-12-04 07:25 pm (UTC)I've been trying to think of what I can do for my family at Christmas now that my budget has been slashed(got laid off and unemployment may take up to 4 weeks to be processed).
Since both my parents are following weight watchers, I will search hungry girl and weightwatchers.com to see if I can find a recipe that will work for the "in a jar" presentation.
Thank you again for inspiring me (for both the present idea and encouraging me to join WW).
