Tada! Last chance to impress me, 2005 - last chance! Whoo-hoo....are you listening? No? Big surprise.

Here's the post from last year - didn't really intend to make this an annual event, but you can't help it. Kind of like looking at the old family albums when you were young, and didn't care about the bad hair.

Boy, that's depressing.

- I hope we've at least been offered a placement.

Nope. Not even close. We're still in the process of getting certified - the State certified us fit a year ago, but the County thinks we should have our heads examined because we're not sex-crazed enough. I was hoping to have that done by March - HA.

- I want to see a number of LJ people in person. It's been years now, guys. Enough already.

This, at least, was more successful than my wildest dreams. Matter of fact, this one carries over into 2006. Hey [livejournal.com profile] darthneko, I'm coming to Berea in April. Seriously. Tell the girls.

- I want to be in Australia on my birthday. I want to have been to Switzerland before that.

One and one here. Switzerland - has to be a priority next year.

- I want to see my Mother in Hawaii for her 80th birthday.

No. You wanted what? The universe laughs at you. Go have lunch in the rain, in Hemet. BWAHAHA.

- I want to go back to Japan. I loved my brief taste of it, and I want more!

Have to get back to Switzerland - and if Jim comes off his "no international travel" bug long enough to consider it, then this might get back on the list.

Oh, BTW. NO.

- I want to go back to school, and get into taking those dance classes I've been promising myself.

It's good to want. Builds character. Better luck next time, toots!

Okay, for the next year, then. Let's see....

-Better fiscal responsibility. Us first - and while it's nice to do nice things? Uh, us first.

-Have to do something about the back house. Clear it out and take it down or something. It's not aging well.

-I know where the dance classes are. Find the money and the time and get there. If there was anything I learned this year, was that my eating habits are fine. It's the amount of exercise I'm NOT getting that's keeping me between 160 and 170 (labile as fuck, BTW). Want to get lower? Been there. Wasn't fun. No big hurry to return. 150 was really nice. 140 might look strange. But I've come down from 183 to 165/170 just not sitting in traffic 6 hours a day. Add a bit more activity and things could really get interesting.

-Need to consider what would happen if my job ended suddenly. It'll be 6 years in March, and while that's nice? My job description is one of the most offshored around. Unless I want to move to India, I'm at risk.

-I've got prepaid legal and that provides us wills. Need to get them drawn up and assign an executor. It's all about the stuff, after all. It would be nice to think somebody would want any of this stuff to remember us by, but let's get real. Most of it's only important to me because I remember somebody by it. And when I'm gone? It's junk.

-I've had the pony. And the cookie. Neither one fixed what was broken. Quit buying or eating and get down to the root of the problem.

-Put some time aside to be creative - and have something to show for it.

-Make sure I'm not selling myself short trying to please other people.

Did I tell you what the new offerings were at Open Enrollment this year? Long Term Care, and increased Short Term Disability, plus NEW! THIS! YEAR!

Group coverage for your pets.

*whistles innocently*

Yeah, I signed up for all of it. Welcome to my demographic. The cats now have their own policies. (Spice is too old, being over 10.) And Long Term Care. All the love money can buy when you're too old or disabled to care for yourself, yessir.

Can't count on the kitties, yanno.

2005, you are SO fired. Gettouttahere.
