Ooog. Had a day off and it was loverly. However, since I did nothing, the stuff is all still here to go. Oh, well.

Also, I'm female. That means I have about two weeks left before getting a chance to Change Everything -

And tomorrow? The hair, she gets cut. I'm donating it to Locks of Love and getting something short and sassy. I tried to come up with a good reason to keep the long hair (and it brushes below the waistband of the jeans now) - and outside of the off chance I might want to dress up in something, I couldn't come up with a good idea. That's not enough reason to keeping getting hair caught in everything. Also, put it up? Can't drive comfortably. Stupid seats have no place for my head NOT to rest. Bleh.

Monday.

Also, on Sims2? Playing against type is HARD.

Hooray for donating hair! My daughter got a huge hair cut a while back and donated 21" in one fell swoop. I am proud of her. ^_^

Are we on the same schedule somehow?

Two weeks here, too. That's the weekend before you arrive.

Oh, yeah. What do you want to eat? :-) I can fix a ham, if you enjoy ham, but I need to know 2 days in advance because it takes 2 days to fix one.

Oh boy. If the timing hits that way this month, I may scream. Jim can't come as it is - and if I have to pass AGAIN because of it, I won't be happy.

*sighs* I'm also rethinking trying to get to the Hill after the flight on Saturday - it's a late one, and alone, I might punt and overnight at the airport and give the kitties a bathroom/food break instead of trying to find everything in the dark for the first time.

Let's not rub Jim's nose in it - he loves ham. A whole lot. Salmon?

We can do salmon, definitely. Or chicken, or beef...I have all of those, frozen, and more pork that isn't ham, too. I just asked about the ham because it needs at least 24 hours to soak as well as 3-5 hours to cook.

For me, timing will be optimal on the 27-28. I've been using a basal thermometer and know when I spike.

At least you can try with your own husband....it's rather more difficult when your donor lives about 2 1/2 hours away. I would so rather have [livejournal.com profile] charlesks' child but that isn't possible.

If it doesn't work this time, we may be investigating AI.

Donating your hair... What an amazing thing to do!! You should share photos of your haircut!!

Good luck with planning for 'conception'. Sounds like you're more ready to take that journey and I am sending positive vibes (I think those Trying to Conceive call it 'baby dust') your way!

Are you aware that LoL does not meet the Better Business Bureau's standards for a charitable organization?

http://www.give.org/reports/report.aspx?ID=733&ReportType=1

I didn't know this either. A not so favorable discussion of LoL came up recently in the longhair LJ community. Personally, I'd do more research and/or find another wigmaking charity for children.

Well, let's see....

*reads report*

The biggest beef is that the documents were not audited. Not that they weren't provided, but were not audited. By a third party.

It has a board of 6, a paid staff of 5 - and the entire budget is less than $400,000 a year. (Of that, the chairman gets a bit over $48,000. Jim and I together make over three times that.)

It looks small, its results are small (less than 250 clients served) - and frankly, unless someone wants to do a pro-bono audit, they haven't got it.

If you've got suggestions on who else does this kind of work, I'll listen - but talk fast. Tomorrow's the day!

That's awesome

I didn't even know Locks of Love existed until April of this year, and I was extra bummed, because I had gotten a massive haircut just two weeks before. =[
