Mar. 21st, 2006 04:18 pmStill a bit under the weather - and a mad dash home to meet up with the social worker from DCFS doesn't help much.
That, and breakfast was Pop-Tarts and lunch was McDonald's. I couldn't get any worse if I tried. Harder.
I'm afraid,
riverheart, we can't hate the social worker. Not that I ever did - but I'm careful what I say around her.
She's had both tollers and flat-coats, dear. She hunts. She's hunted with them, and currently has a hunter-grade golden she's working with.
If for no other reason, thank the powers that be that our lines crossed -
We may yet finish the process with DCFS - I'm not adverse to the idea. However, once the funding is in, so will be the paperwork over at Heartsent. First one to get us a placement, well, wins. We're a catch, what can I say?
And I'm building a five-year plan for my house, that includes some significant rennovation - because I found out what it appraised for and fell over backwards.
I'm half-way to a million. My little crackerbox with one teensy bathroom. I didn't ask for that - I didn't. I just wanted to be closer to work.
elfwench is now one of Jerry's Kids. That's something to tuck in the back of your mind at Labor Day. Good for her, say I. It'll be the first good help she's gotten in a long time without having to beg for it. Jim and his brothers used to do car washes back in the day for that telethon - he'll appreciate that.
Another good reason for me to Sim?
SimPE and HackenHausen are both originally in German, and are fantastic language-practicing opportunities. It's scary - now, to find some places to do actual conversation - that's my one big sore point. I can understand most of what's being said - responding? AIEE.
And now, I do meeting. Then go home. Eat food. Sleep. That kind of thing.

Date: 2006-03-22 01:43 am (UTC)Thanks. That's actually one thought that keeps pulling me out of the rough spots. At least I'm getting help now. Heck, they are even sending a cab to get me on Thursday morning, and my medical services coordinator will be there to help oversee and orchestrate things.
You're good people, Donna. Thanks so much for being a friend. {{hugs}}

Date: 2006-03-22 02:23 pm (UTC)I love how people want you to jump through hoops - and then put the hoops downtown where you can't get to them because of transportation.
Oh, I can find some sheckles to pop into the bin for Jerry's Kids. This is some good work!
