*exhale*

Not a detached retina. Not a retinal tear. No macular degeneration.

Doctor says it looks like she might have had a little interruption in blood flow to part of the eye - like a mini-heart attack, only this was in the retina. She already says she sees better, and the doctor says she should get most if not all back, even if over a period of months.

So much for opthomologists in Hemet. Loma Linda, bayyyybee!

Me, I'm for Jules Stein at UCLA. I know better. Feh.

That reminds me, my wedding photographer is in Hemet. Thank goodness I was able to deal with that misogynist, I was almost about to ask you all if you knew a good lawyer in Riverside County. O_o

How the heck did that happen?

Honey, I was born and raised in Hemet. Yes, I know a number of good lawyers in Riverside county - went to school with a number of them.

*laughs*

Where *are* you?

Yay for Southern California

I'm in Arizona (Mesa, actually, a Phoenix megasuburb approximately the size of Cincinnati), but my grandma lives in Menifee, and I also have a cousin attending college in Riverside. My grandpa also lived in Menifee with my grandma, but he passed on in February, and his earthly shell now resides in Sun City (until the sun burns out or the western half California smashes into Alaska, neither of which I am particularly worried about ^_^). Most of my family is spread throughout Southern California, and my wife and I got married at a winery in Temecula (which was the most convenient geographic center for the attendees).

We had a ... bad experience with the wedding photographer, but that situation has been ironed out without having to resort to legal action. Just as well, since Grandpa was able to attend (and God bless him for it!) and Lolo (my maternal grandfather) wasn't entirely senile then.

I've never actually lived in Riverside County - I spent several years in a neighborhood sandwiched between Glendale and the Los Angeles River (Atwater Village).

In any case, I'm very familiar with Southern California ... just not anyone in the legal field outside of a law school professor in Pasadena who is a family friend.

I'm glad your mother is fine now. I wouldn't know what to do if my mother had to receive such a prognosis.
