(03:31:14 PM) konanut: *laughs*
(03:31:32 PM) konanut: There is a killer recipe for taco quiche - but I lost it. Lawry's seasonings issued it.
(03:31:37 PM) SchoolCait: *nod*
(03:31:55 PM) konanut: It's just one of those - "we don't want the real thing, it's too ethnic" midwest thang.
(03:32:02 PM) SchoolCait: *snicker*
(03:32:05 PM) konanut: So make it look safe...like a pizza.

(03:32:22 PM) konanut: *laughs*
(03:32:32 PM) konanut: Suggest a spam and cheese curd pizza.
(03:32:39 PM) SchoolCait: Do you know how difficult it is to find a DECENT SIZED jar of curry powder?
(03:32:40 PM) konanut: Oh wait.
(03:32:52 PM) konanut: Yeeees - I grew up in Hemet.
(03:32:57 PM) SchoolCait: *sn8
(03:34:06 PM) SchoolCait: Spam and cheese curd pizza sounds good
(03:34:26 PM) SchoolCait: of course, I like cheese curds and gravy on french fries, so... * shrug*
(03:34:58 PM) konanut: But then again, in CA - we put anything on pizza.

(03:36:18 PM) SchoolCait: that sounds good
(03:36:39 PM) konanut: I should slap myself, but yeah - particularly if you grill the rice balls first.
(03:36:53 PM) SchoolCait: heh
(03:36:55 PM) konanut: Take THAT to the next potluck. *laughs*
(03:36:59 PM) SchoolCait: *makes note to get rice*

Date: 2008-03-11 08:09 pm (UTC)Take some tube steaks. Split down the middle. Stuff with mashed potatoes, spam and top with Kraft slices - broil until cheese melts. Serve with ranch dressing.
You can follow on with some Krispy Kreme bread pudding. Worst white trash cooking EVAR.

Date: 2008-03-11 12:59 am (UTC)As for your quiche? You know what goes into tacos, you don't need a stinking Lawry's recipe. Just your nearby Jons, or even Ralphs 'ethnic isle' for the appropriate spices: cilantro, cumin, paprika, chilis, other peppers, meat of choice, and appropriate cheeses.
Always experiment in the kitchen. No written recipe required.

Date: 2008-03-11 08:03 pm (UTC)Because while the prep was 20 minutes - it took an hour and a half to bake and they weren't kidding.
Good times - and today? I'd have to make a wee one because Jim won't eat anything spicier than salt and peppered (and not even much of that) anything.
