Why San Francisco HATES Los Angeles.

Stow, a father of two from Santa Cruz, remained in a medically induced coma at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center on Tuesday, according to a spokewoman for the hospital.

Police said Stow was one of three Giants fans attacked after Thursday's game by two men dressed in Dodgers clothing. The men kicked and punched the victims, shouting expletives about the Giants as they delivered the blows, according to police. Police said the attack was unprovoked.

I know converting my Geocities stuff over to Yahoo was only a temporary measure, a stopgap at best - to prevent me from losing things I really didn't remember I had anymore. Seriously. I knew there were things on those two sites I didn't want to lose, even if I didn't remember them at the time you were getting ready to purge the servers.

But you gave me enough warning to make those conversions in time.

Unfortunately, a year later? When it was time to pay again? Why, I called. I advised you to take care of both accounts. You told me you had.

You missed one. And when it went delinquent? You couldn't email me anymore. And while there was a phone number on the account? Why, it's a company policy NOT to use it!

So the account closed, you purged the data and didn't tell me. Not once. Now? Now you can't recover it.

Not the fan fiction site. MY WEDDING SITE. Thanks a lot.

This is me, changing the registrars on the domains I bought. This is me, getting ready to move the remaining site off your servers. This is me, trying to recover what I can from archive.org and remaking the site elsewhere.

Because you just can't be bothered. Well, guess what. I won't bother you anymore.

Not with anything.

Dear Yahoo.

There's a little widget on my profile that reads something to the order of 'waiting almost four years for Sierra-Rose' on it. You know that one? The clock starts with the LID date of her dossier we sent to China.

The one that is headed for the trashcan as we speak.

Why, you ask? Why because we can't seem to get our paperwork done on time. Because when I hand Jim a piece of paper from the Customs and Immigration people, it gets ignored. Because I'm tired too and want to stop working at night.

Because. I literally don't have any more clock cycles and it got dropped.

We got a panic call from our agency Wednesday after a kind officer called them asking why we hadn't gotten back to them with our paperwork...and that our case had actually been closed in October, but they were advocating to keep it open.

You can imagine. I haven't touched ground long enough to do anything but fume since.

I was able to get the financials done, my employment verifications and the tax records copied and to the agency next day. Jim? He's working on getting his done today - and it's iffy. If he can't make it happen?

We're done. Toss the four years (and the year and a half prior to that) in the trash and Xander remains an only child. See, I'm fifty now. I am now too old to have kids - unless I slipped my application under the door five years ago. Maybe we can redo the CIS permit under Hague regulations (I would certainly hope so), but then that raises questions on both sides I don't want to think about.

Keep in mind we started work on adopting our family in 2003. Sure, it's a walk in the park and there are TONS of kids who need families!

Until you actually, you know - TRY to find them. Or they, you. Without someone engaging in human trafficking, of course. Which in a lot of cases? You may have been party to, without your knowledge. (Hello, Guatemala?)

I'm told domestic adoptions are getting easier - well, hey - bad economy! (Ugh. Families need to stay together guys. I'm not engaging in any baby scooping. Do. Not. WANT.) And again, I'm now scary old.

Angry would be refreshing. I am getting my head around being done and raising an only child.

I'll let you know if that changes. We'll be damn lucky if it does.

So you can re-route comments and things (even things under lock) to Facebook.

Just what I need.

So in addition to the myriad OMG A GAME SCORZ I now have to deal with everyone's idea of what's an Important Moment. Except, maybe - not so much and what the hell is that doing hanging out thar and put it away Right Now.

Please don't cross post me to Facebook. I won't if you won't.

And LJ? Get a clue. Thanks.

Oh man.

Just got an email blast from preschool:

Hello again everyone!

I just received my call from Upsorn. I told her about the silent auction and we have really good news for you all. Upsorn says “YOU OWN ME!” So we are offering Upsorn coupons in our upcoming silent auction! Yes you heard it right, we are selling Upsorn!! She is very happy; it was great to hear the hope in her voice. She wrote a letter to the parents and to the staff and mailed them on Monday. We should get them soon. She wanted to express her love and appreciation to you all for how much you have done for her. She misses everyone sooo much!

We are still being patient as we do not have any news yet from El Paso. She did talk to the officer involved in her case (sounds like they had 2 meetings) and he asked about her education and where she is from. She told him she has her Master’s degree in Education from Oklahoma and is from Thailand. He informed her that because her 2 sons are US born, that will help. Then her attorney also mentioned that we may be able to do a “work sponsor” program.

So keep up the positive thoughts and prayers everyone. Hope we get an answer soon!
